ABOUT DI
I am a relentless creative and have been dabbling in almost every form of art since I was a teenager.
After nearly two decades as a swimwear designer in what was then a vibrant fashion industry, I worked from home creating ranges of children’s swimwear and clothing. I then spent a few years working with and teaching people about essential oils and offering occupational massage therapy, while publishing my first book on 'Aromatherapy for Children'.

In a pivotal turn of events, a friend asked me to help him produce the Franschhoek telephone book. This lead me to collaborate with a local photographer to produce three photographic coffee table books on various areas of the Cape Winelands.
I self-published two more coffee table books: on SA Cap Classique and on the SA artisanal Chocolate industry.
After the Chocolate book, I created a Chocolate Festival. The two ‘Winelands Chocolate Festivals’ drew thousands of chocolate lovers to both beautiful venues!
Everything I have ever done has been a creative exercise. Nothing was ever too much effort because otherwise it just wasn’t worth doing.
In between the work I did, I also dabbled in jewellery, sculpture, mosaics, beading, embroidery, creative sewing and playing the piano. In recent years I began to paint again.
I have found such joy in portraiture, which is where I am focussing now. It is so meaningful to be able to help people honour a family member or pet; to express in oils, the personality of, and people’s affection for their loved ones.

I am currently practicing at Insitu Art Studio in Woodstock and in my home studio.
