Lock Down Art
Inspired by the creativity this event has engendered, I approached fellow artists at InSitu Art Studio in Woodstock, as well as my broader community, asking them to share artworks that express their feelings, thoughts and experiences during the Covid19 pandemic and lock down.
Below are some of the paintings they sent me, which formed part of the original lockdown art collection.

The painting slowly took shape and I possibly transferred my feelings subconsciously. The long term repercussions are unknown and we all are so unprepared. But no matter how vulnerable we feel, the only certainty is the present and we should enjoy and appreciate the goodness that is present

ISOLATION
There s a time in life when you expect the world to always be full of new things.
And then comes a day when you realise that this is not how it will be at all
You see that life becomes a thing made of holes, absences and losses.
Things that were there and are no longer.
And you realise too that you will have to grow around the gaps…

SURRENDER
I will take the sun in my mouth
And leap into the ripe air
Alive
With closed eyes
To dash against darkness
