Between 2006 and 2010, I co-produced three coffee table books on the Cape Wine regions. The books include wine farms, restaurants, accommodation, some history and activities particular to each area.

Each book took a year to research, fund, photograph, produce and print and their purpose was to celebrate the beauty of the Winelands, acknowledge the people who live there and their creative spirit.

Marking the 40th anniversary of the first ever Cap Classique to be made in South Africa, in 2011 I produced the book ‘Celebrating Méthode Cap Classique'.

The book includes over 90 producers of bubbly, mainly in the Western Cape Winelands. This richly illustrated coffee table book traces our roots back to 1500BC Phoenicia.

In it, I cover the tumultuous history, the methods of production, the noble grapes used, the art and etiquette and gourmet food & bubbly pairing.

After reading this book, you too will be a bubbly connoisseur.

The rise of quality dark chocolate in South Africa coincided with the rise of artisanal food and the many local artisan markets that sprung up around South Africa.

In 2013  I produced another coffee table book,  'Chocolate's African Odyssey'. It tells the story of chocolate from the Aztecs to Africa. The book is dotted with Victorian imagery and beautiful old black and white photographs. It includes chocolate's history, the farming methods, how to work with chocolate, chocolate & wine pairing, mouth-watering recipes, plus a host of chocolatiers and places that serve a jolly good Afternoon tea!
